The Redmi k50 pro rumored to come with a triple camera setup and in a triangle like shapeshape, where the main camera will be either 50MP shooter or will be 108MP shooter but there is no word about the megapixels of telephoto and ultrawide camera.

Samsung Z Fold 3 : A Refreshing Design

Today, On 24th of August 2021 Samsung has launched a New Beast in its fold series, naming Samsung Galaxy Fold 3 5G.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 is the best folding device till date, bringing all the goodness of a tablet to a phone-like form factor — without the problems of previous convertibles. With improved durability, support for the S Pen stylus and better app compatibility, we’d easily recommend it to early adopters looking. While the pricing remains unchanged, serviceable cameras and battery life, along with the aforementioned upgrades, make it ideal for those waiting for the space to do something more.

CPU: Snapdragon 888
RAM: 12GB
Storage: 256GB, 512GB
External display: 6.2 inches (2268 x 832) 120Hz Adaptive
Internal display 7.6 inches (2208 x 1768) 120Hz Adaptive
Rear cameras: 12MP wide (f/1.8); 12MP ultrawide (f.2.2, 123-degree FOV); 12MP telephoto (f/2.4, 2x optical zoom, 10x digital zoom)
Front camera: 10MP (f/2.2)
Under-display camera: 4MP (f/1.8)
Battery: 4,400 mAh
Charging: 25W (charger not included)
Size: 6.2 x 2.6 x 0.56 to 0.62 inches (closed); 6.2 x 5 x 0.25 inches (open)
Weight: 9.55 ounces

FOR

  • More durable, water resistant design
  • Dual 120Hz displays
  • S Pen support
  • Improved multitasking features
  • More optimized foldable apps

AGAINST

  • Still pricey
  • Camera hardware not upgraded
  • No S Pen or charger included
  • Bulky when closed
  • Battery life could be better

  • The under-display camera on the Galaxy Z Fold 3 impresses with its ability to disappear when you're viewing content. However, the 4MP resolution is not great for selfies.
  • The main 7.6-inch display is easier to view outdoors, as the panel gets up to 30% brighter. The cover display now has 120Hz refresh rate.
  • I really like the Taskbar feature, which lets you pin your favorite apps to the side of the display and follow you to any app. It's just like Windows. However, you have to dig in the Labs setting to turn this on.
  • There's no getting around the fact that the Galaxy Z Fold 3 is a thick phone when closed. You will definitely notice this phone-tablet combo when it's in your pocket.
  • It's good to see that more apps have been optimized for the Galaxy Fold 3, including Spotify, Gmail, Chrome and TikTok.
  • S Pen support is a great addition but we wish Samsung didn't charge extra for this accessory.
  • The overall camera quality is very good from the Galaxy Z Fold 3, with it taking sharp and colorful images for the most part. But the iPhone 12 Pro is better.
  • The Galaxy Z Fold's 3 battery life could be better. The foldable lasted under 8 hours on our web surfing test, while other flagships last 10 hours or more.
  • There are two schools of thought about its design. As a smartphone, the Galaxy Z Fold3 5G is bulky (folded) and heavy, but a trim in weight and thickness when compared with its predecessors makes it a lot friendlier. For a device with two displays, including a big bendable one, the Galaxy Z Fold3 5G seems appropriately sized, with weight evenly distributed for a good in-hand feel, especially when unfolded.

Complementing the design are the IPX8 rating for water resistance and Gorilla Glass Victus protection on the cover screen. While these two make the Galaxy Z Fold3 5G less delicate when compared with its predecessors, the device’s fundamentals – the mechanical hinge and bendable plastic display with a layer of ultra-thin glass on top – remain the same. Therefore, the Galaxy Z Fold3 5G will still require proper care for longevity. Important to note that the device is not dust-resistant and most of the caveats of its predecessor apply here too

    .

Galaxy Z Fold3 5G is a solid foldable device, but not perfect. The imperfections stem from imaging performance and on-battery time. Starting with imaging performance, the Galaxy Z Fold3 5G has a total of five camera sensors – three of 12-megapixel each on the rear, a 10MP one on the cover, and a 4MP one under display camera on the inside. The triple-rear-camera module and the one on the cover are sensors that have been borrowed from the predecessor. These are not bad, but they are not flagship grade and do not match the might of this otherwise impressive foldable device. The 4MP under-display camera is an addition, but it is more about novelty than utility.

As for the on-battery time, the Galaxy Z Fold3 5G’s 4,400 mAh battery leaves you asking for me. The device sails through a day if you use the cover screen for most tasks but the bigger bendable screen hogs the battery power, even if used sporadically, impacting the on-battery time drastically.

    Verdict

The Galaxy Z Fold3 5G showcases Samsung’s innovation competence. Priced Rs 1,49,999 onwards, this foldable device has more strengths than weaknesses. The Galaxy Z Fold3 5G is the best foldable device yet, not because it is the only one of its kind available in India but because it delivers polished experience both as a smartphone for communication and a big-screen device for productivity and entertainment.

Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max: What's New?

So finally Apple has launched its IPhone 13 series, which includes iPhone 13,iphone 13 pro and iphone 13 pro max. So today i am going to give my thoughts on the iphone 13 pro max, which is a best in class phone And it is kind of a device which is worth all hype with its excellent specs sheet. Apple has given triple cameras on the back, equipped with multifaceted features given with 12MP selfie camera. The IP68 water-resistant phone gets a standard battery with Fast Charging and Wireless Charging support. But, the device does not have a fingerprint sensor and FM radio.

Display and Camera

So talking about the display the Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max comes with a 6.7-inch OLED display, with a pixel density of 457 ppi. The bezel-less notch display of the smartphone is protected by appropriate screen protection. And also comes with 1284 X 2778 pixels of screen resolution.

The triple camera set up on the backside of the phone has a 12MP Primary Camera, a 12MP Ultra-Wide Angle Camera and another 12MP Telephoto Shooter. The setup is equipped with features like ISO control, HDR mode, Digital Zoom, LED Flash, Exposure compensation, Face Detection, and more. There is a single camera on the front comprising 12MP with Retina Flash.

Configuration and Battery

The Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max comes with 6GB of RAM. It is powered by Apple A14 Bionic chipset. An Apple GPU (four-core graphics) and a Hexa Core 3.1GHz, Dual-core, Firestorm + 1.8GHz, Quad-core, Icestorm processor ensures seamless performance.

The device comes with A 3850mAh non-replaceable battery powers up Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max. The Li-ion type cell is compatible with Fast Charging technology and Wireless Charging.
In my opinion apple should increase the battery capacity of its all iPhones because nowadays phones consumes more power and also people use phones most of the times not just for calling purposes.

Storage and Connectivity

Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max comes with 128GB internal storage which cannot be extended. So better choose a good storage variant that fulfill your needs.
The device is compatible with connectivity options like Wi-Fi, Mobile Hotspot, NFC, Bluetooth v5.1, A-GPS Glonass, USB Type-C. Users also get access to 5G and 4GVoLTE networks.

Apple gave the iPhone 12 series a design overhaul with squared-off edges similar to the iPhone 5. The iPhone 13 series retains the same design language without any major changes. The iPhone 13 Pro Max has a stainless steel frame with a glossy exterior. The frame is color-matched to the back of the phone depending on what color you choose. The bottom of the phone houses the lightning port which unfortunately still hasn’t been replaced by USB-C. The primary speaker grille and microphone flank the charging port.

On the right, we have what Apple refers to as the ‘side button’ which activates Siri upon a long-press and can also be used to power the device on and off. The left side of the frame houses the SIM tray along with the volume rockers and a mute switch.

Apple ditched TouchID on the iPhone in favor of Face ID and that’s what you get on the iPhone 13 Pro Max. There were rumors about an in-display fingerprint scanner coming to the iPhone 13 series but that unfortunately turned out to be false. The Face ID sensors reside in the notch above the display which is thankfully smaller this time around. The notch houses the IR camera and the dot projector, which work in tandem to produce a 3D model of your face, which is then scanned to unlock your phone.

Face ID can be used to unlock the phone as well as authorize purchases. Given the present situation where wearing a mask is compulsory in a lot of places across the world, bringing back Touch ID would have made a lot of sense, but Apple has stuck with Face ID as the only biometric authentication on the iPhone 13 Pro Max. With the iPhone 14 Pro supposedly getting a full-screen display with a hole-punch next year, let’s hope Apple brings back Touch ID and puts the scanner below the display.

The iPhone 13 Pro Max is IP68 rated for dust and water resistance so you can take it in the pool for underwater selfies. The display is covered with what Apple refers to as Ceramic Shield, which adds a layer of protection that’s supposedly stronger than Corning’s Gorilla Glass.

Official Cases and Accessories

Every year, the iPhone launch is accompanied by some official accessories for the iPhone. This time too, Apple has launched official cases and covers for the iPhone 13 Pro Max with support for MagSafe charging and accessories. You can buy any of the cases or accessories along with your iPhone 13 Pro Max to either protect it or improve its functionality. Some accessories like the charger are vital in case you don’t have an existing charging brick that has a USB-C port

Motorola Moto G31 : Everything You Need to Know!

Motorola Moto G31 price in India

The Moto G31 is priced starting from Rs. 12,999 in India and is available in two variants. There is the base 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant which is priced at Rs. 12,999, and a 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant which is priced at Rs. 14,999.

Motorola Moto G31 design

The Moto G31 looks very similar to its predecessor, the Moto G30. It's made of polycarbonate and features a unibody design that feels solid. It offers a good grip thanks to a fine groove-like texture at the back and is relatively slim at just 8.54mm. It has an IPX2 rating for slight water resistance, which is a bit of a downgrade in comparison to the G30, which had an IP52 rating for dust and water resistance.

Thanks to the texture at the back and the matte finish, the phone gathered no fingerprints. Its display also remained smudge-free during the review period. I often struggled to find the barely recessed fingerprint reader, which sits on the rear under the Motorola logo, but it unlocks the phone instantly. There's only one speaker and it sits at the bottom next to the primary mic and USB Type-C port.

The Moto G31 features an AMOLED display with a hole-punch cut-out for the camera, which looks modern compared to the notched display on the Moto G30. While the borders at the top, left and right looked adequately thin, the one at the bottom is noticeably thicker.I did not like the layout of the physical buttons on the Moto G31. There's a dedicated Google Assistant button, which sits almost at the top right corner of the device, high above the power button and the volume keys. The Assistant button makes little sense given its inconvenient location, but it might come in handy given that this device cannot wake up and perform actions when locked in response to voice commands.

Motorola Moto G31 specifications and software

The Moto G31 packs in a MediaTek Helio G85 processor and offers up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Storage is expandable by up to 1TB using a microSD card in the hybrid dual-SIM tray. Communications standards include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth 5, and several satellite navigation systems. The phone has a 5,000mAh battery and comes with a 20W charger in the box.

Motorola ships the Moto G31 with a near-stock version of Android 11. It does have some customisation options, including the ability to change the accent colour, font, and icon shapes. There are also the usual Moto gestures and the Moto peek display feature which lets you interact with notifications while the phone is locked. The software experience does not include any third party apps, which we see on most competing smartphones, but there is a Dolby Atmos app, which is used to enhance the audio experience.

Motorola Moto G31 performance and battery life

The software experience on the Moto G31 was smooth overall with regular use. Upgraders will miss the fluid 90Hz display from the Moto G30, but performance was good and apps remained in memory for a long time. The 6.4-inch AMOLED panel offers deep blacks and makes for an immersive viewing experience when watching movies and playing games. The phone has Widevine L1 DRM certification, which allows for full-HD playback resolution in streaming apps. The Moto G31 has a single bottom-firing speaker that was loud enough, but just not as immersive as the stereo speakers found on competing smartphones.

I received the 4GB RAM variant for review and it managed average scores for a budget smartphone in our benchmark tests. The Moto G31 scored 1,55,315 points in AnTuTu and 346 and 1,241 respectively in Geekbench's single and multi-core tests. The G31 managed 39fps and 8.7fps in GFXBench's T-Rex and Car Chase benchmarks respectively, and scored 1,799 and 1,408 points in 3DMark's Sling Shot and Sling Shot Extreme benchmarks. However, there are smartphones with MediaTek Helio G88 and G95 SoCs in this price segment that performed better.

The Moto G31 offers a basic budget smartphone gaming experience. The phone can handle most games at low graphics settings but nothing more. I experienced some stuttering and lag when playing Call of Duty: Mobile at the default Low graphics and Medium frame rate settings. Asphalt 9: Legends ran smoothly at the Default graphics setting with some occasional lag when there was a lot of action happening on screen. The phone did warm up after about 30 minutes of gaming, beyond which performance took a hit. Indeed, this is a smartphone that's mainly built for simple everyday tasks and playing casual games.

Battery life was quite good on the Moto G31. Its 5,000mAh battery lasted a day and a half of use which included some gaming. The phone managed a reasonable 18 hours and 32 minutes in our HD video loop battery life test. Charging speed was decent with the bundled 20W charger. The Moto G31 went from a dead battery to fully charged in 2 hours and 33 minutes.

Motorola Moto G31 cameras

Motorola has reduced the number of rear-facing cameras on the Moto G31. The Moto G30 had four, which included a dedicated 2-megapixel depth sensor. On the Moto G31, the 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera does double duty as the depth camera when shooting photos using the Portrait mode. The primary camera now features a 50-megapixel sensor instead of the 64-megapixel one on the Moto G30, and there's also a 2-megapixel macro camera. Selfie duties are handled by a 13-megapixel front-facing camera. The camera app interface is typically Motorola, with a customisable list of camera modes in a very simplified layout. Most of the settings are hidden under the gear icon. Oddly, the camera interface offers no option to select the video recording resolution, and does not have a symbol or icon to tell you what resolution it's recording at either. Photos taken in daylight showcased mostly natural colours with decent dynamic range. Most of the photos I took ended up looking a bit dreamy thanks to the aggressive HDR, but this also ensured good detail in darker areas of each frame. The ultra-wide-angle camera was not good and mostly ended up overexposing scenes, producing blurry details and noticeable barrel distortion.

Autofocus locking was a bit slow especially when shooting close-ups of objects. These photos showed good detail, but often had overexposed backgrounds or blown-out highlights. Macro photos did not have much detail and I preferred using the primary camera as shots came out sharper with better detail, and can be cropped. Selfies came out fine provided I didn't use the Portrait mode, which often resulted in blown-out backgrounds.

Low-light photos came out quite blurry. The Night mode managed to make shots sharper but they were still very low on detail. The Portrait mode never seemed to work in low light. Video quality overall was decent at best with the exposure changing quite drastically when panning. Low-light video was quite poor.

Verdict

With prices starting from Rs. 12,999, the Motorola Moto G31 offers a high-quality AMOLED display, a water-resistant body, and a near-stock Android software experience. However it isn't on par with its predecessor in some regards, and its imaging capabilities are a mixed bag and far from consistent. It's not an all-rounder but might still be a good fit for those looking for a vanilla Android software experience. The Nokia G20 is the only other phone that offers this in this price segment, and it is an underpowered device.

If you don't mind some Android customisation and preloaded apps, there are smartphones such as from Brands like 'Infinix' which are priced lower (starting from Rs. 10,999) but offer better specifications along with better gaming and camera performance. There's also the Raome Narzo 30 series which offers a high-refresh-rate display and a Helio G95 processor at a slightly higher price, starting from Rs. 13,499. Finally, there's the Redmi 10 Prime which offers a bigger battery and a 90Hz display at the same price.
