Samsung has today launched the most anticipated smart Samsung Galaxy S21 FE (fam edition) today in India, a hotly anticipated smartphone that follows the same formula as before — offering flagship-level specifications and features similar to those of the premium S21  series, but the s21 fan edition is a stripped down version of the flagship s21 series which offers us to a give a feel of s21 series.

The device comes with an unfer display fingerprint sensor, aslo supports bixby natural voice commands and samsung pay like features. The device does have stereo speakers with dolby atmos support. it would be interesting to see that how the device performs in other departments.

The Samsung Galaxy S21 FE comes with a 6.4-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with 120 hertz refresh ratr and also the device gets the protection by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus having an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. The bezel-less punch-hole display of the device has a 403ppi pixel density and a screen resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels and the display is also HDR 10 plus cerified which enhances our overall viewing experience. Also, it gets the feature of 'Always on display' on top of it.

Camera:

The Samsung Galaxy s21 fe houses a Triple Camera set up on the front, including a 12MP f/1.8 Primary Camera combined with an 8MP f/2.4 Telephoto Shooter and a 12MP f/2.4 Ultra Wide Angle Lens. Dual Pixel autofocus, Phase Detection autofocus, LED Flash, ISO Control, Exposure compensation, Continuous Shooting, HDR mode, Auto Flash, Face detection,  features for the main camera and for the front camera a 32MP f/2.2 Selfie Shooter is placed. In the cameras department Samsung as always never disappoint us.

Performance:

This device comes with Samsung's own in house  processor namely, Samsung Exynos 2100 chipset. This is an Octa-core Cortex X1, Cortex A78 and Cortex A55 processor layout running at a speed of 2.91GHz (max) it gives the best experience one can think of. Also, a Mali-G78 MP14 GPU takes care of the overall graphical and gaming experiences but in several parts of the world Samsung is also supplying this device with Snapdragon 888 Soc but not in india. This is a setback fot users in india who are seeing this device for the purpose of gaming.

Battery:

Samsung Galaxy S21 FE comes with a powerful yet non-removable 4500mAh Li-ion battery, compatible with 25 Watt Fast Charging and 15 watt Wireless Charging Connectivity and also it supports reverse wireless charging. it charges 50% in 30 mins (as advertised). But samsung did not include the charger in the box this time.

Connectivity and features:

In terms of Connectivity the device supports A-GPS, 4G VoLTE network, Bluetooth v5.0, Wi-Fi, USB Type-C, Mobile Hotspot, etc. Also, supports usb on the go and charges with type c cable. The Samsung s21 fe comes with 7 5g bands namely, n1, n3, n5, n7, n8, n20, n28, n38, n40, n41, n66, n77, n78.

The phone has a boot time of 19s (from various sites) and a antutu score of 753,639. This device runs on as usual Samsung one ui which is based in Android 12. The comes with LPDDR5 ram whuch is the fastest in the industry .

Build:

The front of the device is protected by gorilla glass victus, wheras the side gets aluminum frame and in the back the device gets a plastic back, which should not be expected in such price range and from a brand like Samsung. The weight of device is very well balanced having a total weight of 177 gram. The device is also IP68 dust and water resistant upto a depth of 1.5m for 30 mins.

Storage, Pricing and Colours:

The device will be available in three colours, that are, White, Graphite, Lavender and Olive.

And it would be coming in two storage variants that are at a price difference of Rs.4000 from each. The base model comes with 8gb of ram and 128 gb of storage at a price of 49,999 whereas the higher variant with 8gb of ram and 256gb storage comes at a price of 53,999.

Final Verdict:

This a very good budget oriented device from Samsung, with better cameras, a decent performance, and good ui and software experience but some things should have been better such as Samsung could have given glass back on the phone instead of plastic and the battery could have been bigger because nowadays the phones are getting powerful and the displays are getting more power consuming, so a 4500 mah battery could not withstand for such a long time. Everything thing else is good in the phone and prices could have been slightly less because the galaxy s21 also starts at a near about price range so they could have kept a difference. If you are willing to take some time before purchasing this device then i would recommend you to take some time before the prices go down.
